An aggressive van driver has taken his anger out on two unsuspecting truck drivers instead of swapping insurance details on the side of an English motorway.
The man’s van and a truck collided on the M62, in Greater Manchester, on November 9.
Police say the quarrel kicked off after the truck drivers asked the man for his insurance details.
In video released by police in an attempt to identify the van driver, he can first be seen arguing animatedly with the two drivers in the truck.
But instead of sharing his insurance information, the man became increasingly abusive and started punching one of the truck drivers.
The two men returned into the truck’s cab and the van driver got into his own car.
But the reprieve was short-lived and the van driver then reversed at speed into the truck, smashing into the radiator and causing extensive damage.
He then got back out of the van and tried to get into the cab.
Unsuccessful, he then started smashing the window with a shovel from his van.
PC John Cavanagh from Greater Manchester Police’s Roads Policing Unit said: “No one could have anticipated the level of violence they would then fall victim to.”
“The driver and passenger in the lorry were just trying to get on with their day’s work when they collided with the man in the pick-up truck, accidents happen and they were attempting to deal with the situation in an appropriate manner.”
